Hello my lovelies…. I am just back from the oh so cosmopolitan London town. It was a girl’s trip over the weekend. We flew out on the last flight on the Friday night from Belfast with easyJet and the came home on the Sunday evening flight. It was a quick but fab trip. We stayed at the Travelodge London Central Southwark - Guest Reservations. The hotel was nice and clean and the rooms were spacious. Breakfast was included and there was a choice of hot and cold foods with cereal and fruit. The food was buffet so you can have as much or as little as you wanted. It was a 30-minute walk into all the tourist bits of London or just a couple of stops in the tube. This was my first time using the tubes so much and I honestly can say they are great for scooting about the city.
What we did:
Harrods: We took a look around Harrods and oh my, to see of this store would take a day to itself. There are so many designers and brands and this store is just massive and you even have dining options. You honestly could spend a day at least here.
China Town: we walked around China Town taking in all the fabulous sites
Covent Garden: we walked around enjoying all the stalls and businesses. There were also entertainers on the street which was great to watch. Convent Garden is fantastic for people watching.
o2 Arena: we went out here for food and to have a nosey as none of us had ever been before. The o2 arena is INSANE…. There are loads of places to eat & drink, shopping, cinema, bowling and much, much more.
IFS Cloud Cable Car: £10 per adult for a return trip. This was such a nice experience and fabulous to have the views of the o2 arena and other parts of London. If you are out at this part of the city, I would recommend the cable car.
Tower Bridge: we did the tour of the tour which was approx. £11 per adult. This was very good. You climb all the stairs (there is a lot) (there is a lift for anyone who needs it) to the top of the towers and there was information and short films about the building and operations of the tower bridge. Once at the top there is glass floor you walk over to cross the bridge, this was so cool to get the views below.
The Alchemist Cocktail Bar: After all the walking we did need a refreshing drink and with us being close by it would of been rude not to. Seeing all the cocktails is an experience of it's own. I stuck to what I knew and went with a Pornstar Martini, it was delish. The cocktails were standard price.
Until the next adventure,
T x
