Every year we would of said we were going to do Darkness into Light but something always came up but not this yearđ we booked in 12 days before so we knew this was the year and our sister in law joined us which made it more specialđ
Unfortunately every household in some way, shape or form has been effected by mental health and it is so important for people to know that those dark days really do get brighterâď¸âď¸
The atmosphere at the start line was great and the Phillips sister were singing and then there was a few words before it started. They asked everyone to put their torches on and hold them up and wow it was beautiful đ
The first section was through Kilbroney Forest and it was beautiful with the walk ways lit up by tea light candles đŻ
Kilometer one was done in no time with a harpist playing and it was so fab. As I am sure your grasping this is not just a walk but a total experience. The rest of the kilometers came round rather fast... one step at a time.
We came along the shore front in Rostrevor, where the memorial banner was, so we stopped to sign it which was a very overwhelming feeling. After that it was the last kilometer which took us back into the park were there was signs with messages of hope and encouragement for people in dark times.
We got across the finish line and there was such a buzz from everyone and people were mingling. It was such an all round amazing experience. We would definitely tell anyone to take part as it is for all ages, fitness levels and every one in between.
We cannot wait for next year's walkđ
Love Tara x
